This is a message for all Followers & Friends of Rachel Gibson and in the dark woods.
I am Steve Gibson, Rachel’s husband, and with the deepest regret I must inform you all that Rachel died suddenly, of heart failure on 24th April. I cannot describe my distress and sense of loss.
I am aware that you admire her work and, if you knew her, also loved and admired her intelligence and wonderful personality.
You can email me at: steve.gibson8@tiscali.co.uk
Thank you.
I was so saddened to read this. She was a great artist and will be missed.
Hi Steve,
I didn’t know Rachel only her work. I am very sorry for your loss.
I am very sorry to hear this. My condolences, sincerely, for what you are going through. How very sad. Her work was a light.
Hello Steve
I didn’t know Rachel beyond the fact I liked watching new work appear here, and she was taking part in an open ‘Puppet Challenge’ exhibition at my own website. I’d been wondering about contacting her as the deadline drew near. I am saddened to read this news. It must be a terrible time for you and her friends and family, and I send my deepest sympathies.
My very best
Clive Hicks-Jenkins
Steve, I am very sorry to hear this.
I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy to you.
Dear Steve
Some of Rachel’s fellow ‘Puppet Challengers’ have been writing to me personally to express their feelings. (I think some of them have tried and failed to leave messages here.) I’m posting them on the piece I wrote about Rachel here:
There are also messages being left in the comments section of the post.
Oh, I’m late to read this. I’m so sorry! I feel so sad. Rachel was always kind to me. I can’t imagine how you feel, Clive. Peace be with you. Ashley
Sorry! I see it’s Steve, not Clive. Really, my condolences.
Dear Steve,
I am so sorry for your loss and I am very saddened to hear of Rachel’s sudden death.
I am also sorry to have only just got around to looking at this post.
Rachel always left likes and lovely comments and encouraging remarks on my blog. I shall miss hearing what new paper cuts she has been getting up to and seeing her lovely work.
It is very sad that I shall now never have a chance to meet her in person, I had hoped we would bump into each other at some point seeing as we had similar interests.
I don’t know what your spiritual beliefs are but God bless you and her and all her family and friends.
Collette
Absolutely loved her work and was so sorry to read this today.
