Lately, I’ve been trying out some silhouette designs for cards that cast little shadows behind them (more of these later – the principle is sound but the execution needs more work!), and one of these became a sort of dryad. I thought something was missing, so added some birds, and voila…a new character, The Birdkeeper.
She’s actually lined up to become something different in a story I’m working on and will have more to do with the bringing of seasons rather than a guardian of birds, but I kind of like the image as it is for now.
I’ve also been using a new light, a Joby Gorillatorch Flare, and so far I’ve been really pleased with the shadows it’s created. They look much darker and more dense, with a strong outline, and I’m finding it a lot easier to capture them in photos.
